Longtime Grand Valley news anchor Rick Thurtle is now working as a Colorado licensed Real Estate Broker Associate for Century 21 Homestead Realty in Grand Junction. Rick is a community leader who is now making his knowledge of the Grand Valley available to those who are looking for a respected Mesa County resident to help them with their real estate needs. Whether it is residential, commercial or investment opportunities Rick Thurtle is a name Grand Valley residents have grown to trust.

Rick enjoys being an active member in the community. He served as Chairman of the 2004 Salvation Army Food Drive and Kettle Campaign, one of the biggest charitable projects on the Western Slope. He also Co-Chaired the 2002 United Way of Mesa County fund drive that raised close to $900,000.

Rick was also presented the 2002 Communications Award by the American Cancer Society for his work on the Relay for Life.

A key member on the City of Grand Junction committee that helped organize the passing of the Olympic Torch Relay through Grand Junction, Rick helped 11 News led the way locally on its trip to the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.

Rick is also active with several charitable campaigns in and around the area, including the "Taste of the Grand Valley", an annual fundraiser for the United Way of Mesa County.

Rick, and his wife Vicki, share their home with a madman named Fletcher, their Golden Retriever. They love the lifestyle the Grand Valley has to offer, including skiing, fishing, and hiking.

Rick and Vicki also enjoy attending baseball games at all levels, including Mesa State College and local high school games. One of the highlights of their year, starting each Memorial Day Weekend, is the Junior College World Series, or JUCO, the annual showcase sporting event of Grand Junction that brings our city national attention.

The Colorado Rockies are a passion for Rick and Vic. The 2007 season was unbelievable for the Rockies and one of the best baseball experiences they have ever enjoyed together.
